Creative play

There’s such a pleasure in making something – absorbing yourself wholly in creative expression. It’s been shown to improve your mood, enhance brain function, particularly your ability to think and develop options and ideas, and boost your self esteem. It can be great for your overall well-being including reducing stress and increasing connection when you practice creativity in groups.

Today’s invitation is to create something – a wreath, paper chains or snowflakes, a special meal, perhaps even plant some bulbs for next year.

Notice how it feels for you as you consider which creative activity to pursue. Where does your interest and energy lie? When you are immersed in the activity, notice how you feel? What tells you you feel this way – perhaps your energy is up or your heart rate is down, your shoulders feel lighter or maybe you are singing.

If you want to, we’re a few lines in your journal about how this experience went for you.
