I’m often asked, “How do I know when I’m ready for some coaching?” There are no right or wrong answers here, however what often emerges is a sense of being stuck or at a crossroads. Coaching provides you with a safe space to think aloud, think better, and start making sense of all that is swirling inside of you.
Coaching is a thriving industry because coaching works. It taps into our middle brain, home of our long-term memory, to access what you already know and have experienced so you can strategise a new way forward. It’s grounded in creating awareness of how you think, what matters to you and how you want to show up in the world. This creative process stimulates a positive sense of responsibility and courage. By focusing on your inner strengths, values and desires you can identify how you can make real changes in your external environment.
And how will you know when you are ready? Coaching takes work and commitment. You need to have a real desire for change and are ready to put in the effort. If you are curious about what you need right now to overcome challenges, or what you want for your future, working with a coach as a thinking partner could both help you think more broadly and achieve clarity and direction for what you want to achieve.
